Therapy is hard work! That’s why I strive to meet you where you’re at, and bring in self-compassion and validation into most sessions. In addition, I am here to help push you toward reaching your goals and finding new ways of change that will incorporate your strengths and values. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to aid in building new skills and habits for yourself and your relationships, and also build understanding of self through a systemic and trauma-informed lens.
I currently work with adolescents (13+) and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship difficulties, identity, and other stressors. I have experience working with diverse populations including LGBTQ+, adoptees, foster youth, parents, and families in a variety of settings including residential treatment, schools, and foster care system. I have training in Adaptive Internal Resources (AIR) Network, which assists with clients experiencing dissociation and complex trauma experiences. I also have training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and good knowledge of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am also currently in process of earning a Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate (PACC) through the University of Minnesota.
Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities year-round, including hiking, camping, and cross-country skiing. I try to embrace all Minnesota seasons as much as I can! I'm also a local sports fan and enjoy music of all varieties and enjoy playing the trumpet in a local community concert band.
